The Eastern Grammos is located within the Municipality of Nestorio, which belongs to the Regional Unit of Kastoria in Western Macedonia. The Western Grammos is located within the neighboring region of Epirus, specifically in the Regional Unit of Ioannina.

Access to the Grammos region is primarily via Nestorio and, to a lesser extent, via Eptachorio. By road, Nestorio is mainly accessible via the Kozani–Kastoria section of the Egnatia Highway. Kastoria also has an airport.
